Mancera – Sicily: Overview, Smell, Notes & More!

Sicily by Mancera is a citrus fragrance designed for both men and women.

The perfume was released in 2016, and the scent was created by Pierre Montale.

Sicily has plenty of fruity scents, including a delectable mandarin orange.

Floral and woody scents invade most of its heart notes and base notes, which include the fresh-smelling ylang-ylang and white musk.

What Does Mancera Sicily Smell Like?

The First Whiff

The first whiff is a strong explosion of a beautiful vibrant citrus that reminds you of the summer days of your youth. It’s also reminiscent of Californian summers as it produces intense tropical fruits with ripe peach as the second dominant scent.

The Aftermath

The scent of orange persists for about five minutes. But soon after, the citrus aroma gradually blends into the scent of cherry blossoms. As the citrusy smell fades, it overlaps with ylang-ylang notes.

The Heat Effect

When the perfume mixes with the heat of the skin, that’s when the woody notes are released, particularly the rich, deep sandalwood.

Overall Aroma

The overall fruit scent, with its floral and woody mix, is enveloped by a soapy scent from the white musk. This is why I’d describe this perfume as an enjoyable balance of a refreshing and clean orange scent.

It does come off as a beautiful orange feminine fragrance, but men are not bothered and find Sicily exquisitely fragrant.

How Long Does Sicily Last For?

Sicily eau de parfum lasts up to 10 hours. Four sprays of this citrusy scent give you moderate to strong longevity.

The sillage is about an arm span wide. If you leave the room, the scent will leave a yummy trail for a good five to six hours.

When Should You Wear It?

This is a perfume to wear in the summer or spring. Summer, however, is the best season to wear it as it’s definitely a warm-weather scent.

Where Should You Wear It?

You can wear this anywhere because it’s a casual perfume ideal for everyday use.

It’s not great for a formal night as the scent is more carefree and easy.

Basically, it’s the perfect scent to wear when you want to give the impression that you take care of your personal hygiene.

Presentation and Value For Money

Sicily comes in two different bottle designs – one is gold, one is sunny yellow.

The presentation is refreshingly unpretentious.

For something so fresh and tropical, it is affordable at $180 for 120ml.

This is reasonably within the price range of Mancera fragrances.

The Bottom Line

It’s a very nice scent, and the fact that it’s genderless makes it ideal for couples who like to smell the same.

For a Mancera, it is not overpriced.

Its longevity and sillage power are a bonus.

It’s an ideal scent for people between the ages of 25 and 70.

Perfumes that Smell Like Sicily

If you’re chasing a similarly nice scent with generally the same top to bottom notes, these three aromas are the closest to Sicily:

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

There’s an immediately strong floral and fruity opening, which is the signature aroma of Mancera’s Sicily.

There’s also a hint of sandalwood combined with grapefruit and violet, with amber and musk as base notes.

It shares fruity, sweet, citrusy, powdery, violet, musky, spicy, and white flora accords with Sicily.

Fans also love how long-lasting it is.

007 Feels Like Summer Zara

This perfume share’s Sicily’s citrus scent.

The name of the perfume already spells it out – it’s also a perfect summer-season scent.

The top note is definitely fruity and aromatic and, like Sicily, it has a note of sandalwood.

Bond No. 9 New York Little Italy

This unisex perfume is downright citrusy.

From perfumer Francis Camail, the top notes are freshly sliced mandarin orange, clementine, and grapefruit.

The base note is musk.

Overall, its summery and fruity notes with woody undertones make it a close match to the Sicily scent.

It is not long-lasting and only lingers for three to four hours. This has mixed reviews; some find it wonderful, while others find that it has a dirty orange scent.
