The previous edition of Dior Allure fragrance came out in 2004, a unisex fragrance and a work of art by perfumer Annick Menardo.

The master perfumer wanted to use her favorite ingredient, Iris Pallida, a mainstay fantasy among perfumers. 

It was part of a private fragrance collection with three fragrances, including Cologne Blanche and Eau Noire, packed in three bottles designed by Hedi Slimane.  

It’s a Woody Chypre fragrance with dominant notes of honey, leather, Somalia myrrh, and vanilla.

Menardo masterfully blended scents that seemed incompatible, like the sweet, soft notes of floral and dry nuances of leather. 

The bottle you can get today is the 2018 version in eau de cologne concentration, a reimagination by the French perfumer Francois Demachy.

He’s been a Dior perfumer and creator since 2006 and has been the nose behind all Maison Dior scents.
